No CommentsThe prototype version of the NANO2ALL scenario exploration game (adapted from JRC´s future simulation tool ‘Scenario Exploration System’ (SES)) was presented in the Gamelab of Ecsite Annual Conference 2017 (www.ecsite.eu). The game, which will be used as part of the multi-stakeholder dialogues, explores future nanotechnology scenario situations in the targeted application areas across multiple timelines. More importantly, the game allows participants to take different social roles associated with nanotechnologies, helping to imagine themselves in someone else´s shoes and comprehend the social dynamics developed due to stakeholders’ interaction. Learn more about the game in our Newsletter #2 to be accessed under “resources” of this website.

The NANO2ALL citizen dialogue methodology was demonstrated at Ecsite Annual Conference 2017 (www.ecsite.eu) at the session “Unleashing citizen contributions to “science for all””. This session provided the opportunity to science communicators and others to experiment writing narratives on future situations related to the nano enabled objects, that were previously created by citizens in the NANO2ALL citizen dialogues. This helped reflect on values, concerns and needs around these objects. More on the dialogue methodology and the preliminary results of the citizen dialogues can be found under “resources” in this website. -

Define Responsibility at the start of the NANO2ALL dialogues

What is responsibility in relation to nanotechnology in your experience? Six participants in an interactive workshop organised by NANO2ALL @ The S.NET discussed practical answers to this question. While most attendants mentioned examples from earlier projects on responsible nanotechnology research, two were not familiar with the concept. We will therefore need to explain what we mean by “Responsible Research and Innovation” before engaging citizens and stakeholders in the dialogue on nanotechnology organised in NANO2ALL, www.nano2all.eu.

The second consortium meeting for Nano2All was successfully held in the beautiful Thessaloniki, Greece between May 10-11! We excitedly exchanged ideas and information on progress and development according to the Work Plan, including how to better reach out to our stakeholder groups, how to improve our project platform and social media platforms (Work Package 1), how to design pre-training questions to understand needs of different types of stakeholders, in order to maximise the results of the training (Work Package 2), what is the scenario game / how to play it, how to organise the Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue (MSD) at national and European level (Work Package 3), and how all these tasks will feed into the roadmap that will be developed towards the end of the project (WP4).
Our next project meeting, back-to-back with training to science centres to prepare them for training to citizens, will be held in December in Amsterdam! See you all there!

The NANO2ALL project kick-off meeting took place at SPI headquarters in Oporto, Portugal, on 27 and 28 October 2015.
This was the first time that the entire consortium - more than twenty individuals from across Europe - gathered in one place, being the opportunity for all partners to get to know each other better and present their ideas and workplans.
Work Package leaders presented the activities to be implemented, receiving inputs and feedback from the other partners.
The NANO2ALL kick-off meeting allowed to exchange knowledge and experiences, to share the individual expectations toward the project, and to strenghten cooperation and build a strong team spirit.
The NANO2ALL team invites you to stay updated on the project news and activities through the mailing list subscription.
